I am a second year electrical & electronic engineering student at University College Dublin (UCD). I completed the leaving certificate examinations in 2012 and I got 625 points (6 A1s). I studied seven subjects: English, Irish, Mathematics, French, Physics, Accounting and Biology. I also completed the junior certificate examinations in 2009 and I got 11 As.
I have been giving grinds in JC/LC subjects since I completed my own Leaving Certificate (18 months ago) and my students have all felt like the grinds helped them a lot. Having done the state exams so recently myself, I can completely relate to how you're feeling right now. Everyone goes through the same thing during these exams - when you're studying you feel like you're not studying hard enough and when you're not studying you feel guilty because you feel like you should be studying and you think everyone else is.
Price per hour
I think my results show that I've mastered these skills. I gave grinds in Donegal last year so this is my first year giving grinds in Dublin. I'm based in UCD but I also might be able to give grinds in a student's home (as long as I can work it around engineering college timetable). I charge ￃﾢ￢ﾀﾚￂﾬ25 for a 1 hour grind but again this is negotiable if students would be interested in taking out a large package of grinds. I'm also open to doing group sessions and the prices for these are again negotiable.
From experience, I learn things so much better when someone closer to my own age is teaching it to me which is why I think a lot of students would prefer to get grinds from me than from an older student/teacher.
